About PubliSphere

PubliSphere is a platform of the University of Warsaw designed to present, provide access to, and disseminate the University’s scholarly output

PubliSphere is a shared space for showcasing scholarly publications issued by the University of Warsaw. The platform is being developed with the entire UW community in mind. At this stage, it includes the University’s own publications, primarily those published by the University of Warsaw Press, and does not constitute a complete record of the publication output of UW staff.

It brings together academic publications, journals, publishing series, and information about authors, research, and projects carried out at the University of Warsaw. By connecting different fields of knowledge, it allows users to explore the University’s academic output through publications, topics, and collections.

PubliSphere supports the visibility of research conducted at the University of Warsaw and facilitates access to reliable scholarly knowledge – both for the academic community and for everyone interested in the University’s research results

University of Warsaw knowledge in one place

Explore research through publications, topics and collections

PubliSphere is more than a catalogue of publications. Its content can be explored in different ways – through authors, journals and publishing series, as well as through thematic collections bringing together research from different academic fields.

This makes it possible to view publications in the broader context of contemporary issues and developments, including the environment and sustainable development, economic change, migration, society and politics, language and culture, heritage, and the development of artificial intelligence.

This approach highlights the diversity of research conducted at the University of Warsaw while making it easier for users to discover publications even when they are not searching for a specific title or author, but rather for a particular subject or area of interest.

Making research more accessible

One of PubliSphere’s key objectives is to increase the visibility and accessibility of knowledge created at the University of Warsaw.

The platform provides access to information about publications and, where their publication model allows, to full texts available in open access. In this way, research results can reach not only specialists and members of the academic community, but also students, teachers, public institutions, the media and anyone interested in research and scholarship.

Scholarship created by the University community

The publications presented in PubliSphere are created by researchers, authors, journal editorial teams, research groups and units of the University of Warsaw.

For this reason, the platform presents not only publications themselves, but also information about their authors, publishing series, journals and the broader context in which the research is produced.

PubliSphere makes it possible to view the University’s scholarly output not as a collection of individual titles, but as a developing space for research, ideas and academic debate.

More than 200 years of tradition and contemporary challenges

For more than two centuries, the University of Warsaw has created, developed and shared knowledge. PubliSphere builds on this tradition while responding to contemporary ways of communicating research and accessing academic publications.

Alongside works devoted to history, culture, language and law, the platform presents research addressing major contemporary social, technological, economic and environmental transformations.

PubliSphere presents the University of Warsaw as a place where academic tradition meets research addressing the questions and challenges of the contemporary world.

Join PubliSphere

PubliSphere is being developed as a shared space for showcasing scholarly publications issued at the University of Warsaw. Journal editorial teams and publishers operating within the University of Warsaw can join the platform and present their publications.

At this stage, PubliSphere offers several forms of presentation:

  • full journal presentation within PubliSphere – the journal receives its own page within the PubliSphere domain, including information about the journal, its issues, publication guidelines and other editorial materials; example: “Przegląd Europejski – European Studies Quarterly” ;
  • a full journal website under its own domain – the website remains available at the journal’s existing address while using the template and solutions developed within PubliSphere; example: przegladeuropejski.com.pl ;
  • a journal profile – a basic presentation within PubliSphere containing key information about the journal and a link to its own website;
  • a publisher page within PubliSphere – a dedicated page presenting the publisher and its publications. The page can feature books, publication series, journals and other scholarly publications.

The scope of the platform is being gradually expanded. If you represent a journal, editorial team or publisher operating within the University of Warsaw and would like to join PubliSphere, please contact us:
