PubliSphere – More Than a Place for Publications
Practical guides, research tools, and new opportunities to support authors, editors, and research communication
PubliSphere is more than a collection of academic books and articles. We are developing a dedicated resource for authors and editors, offering practical guides, publication ethics guidelines, information on the responsible use of AI, and tools to support the preparation, dissemination, and promotion of research.
PubliSphere is becoming more than a platform for discovering and accessing scholarly publications from the University of Warsaw. We are expanding its role to support researchers, authors, reviewers and editorial teams throughout the publishing process, from preparing a manuscript to sharing research findings with a wider audience.
Our Guides and Instructions section brings together practical information, recommendations and resources related to scholarly publishing. The aim is to make reliable guidance easier to find and help researchers navigate the increasingly complex requirements of academic communication.
Practical support for scholarly publishing
Preparing an academic publication involves much more than writing a manuscript. Authors and editorial teams must consider ethical standards, responsible use of technology, copyright and personal data protection, as well as the requirements associated with publishing and disseminating research. Our guides address these issues through accessible explanations and practical recommendations.
The available materials cover publication ethics and research integrity, including the responsibilities of authors, peer reviewers and editors. They also provide guidance on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in scholarly publishing, an increasingly important topic for researchers and journal editors.
Additional resources explain issues related to personal data protection, the publication of author photographs and the use of PubliSphere itself. Together, these materials provide a practical reference point for people involved in academic publishing at different stages of their work.
Beyond the Publication
A published article or book is not necessarily the final stage of research communication. Research findings can be presented in different formats, adapted to different audiences and made more accessible through digital tools and multimedia.
Our Beyond the Publication resources explore opportunities to increase the visibility, accessibility and impact of scholarly work. These include new forms of presenting research, such as graphical and video abstracts, as well as other approaches to making academic content easier to discover, understand and share.
Scientist's Essentials
Researchers rely on a wide range of services and tools that support the preparation, management and dissemination of scholarly work. Finding trustworthy information about these resources, however, is not always straightforward.
The Scientist's Essentials resources bring together useful links and information about open science, research data repositories, Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), plagiarism detection and other services relevant to academic publishing. The goal is to provide a convenient starting point for researchers looking for tools and guidance that can support their everyday work.
By bringing these resources together, PubliSphere aims to support not only the discovery of research produced at the University of Warsaw, but also the people behind that research. We will continue to expand our guides, instructions and supporting materials as the platform develops.
