Discover open access books and scholarly articles from the University of Warsaw. PubliSphere makes it easier to find and explore research publications across a wide range of academic disciplines.

Open Access is playing an increasingly important role in scholarly communication. It enables readers to explore research findings without paid subscriptions, helping knowledge reach researchers, students, teachers, professionals and anyone interested in academic research.

PubliSphere showcases books, journals and scholarly articles published at the University of Warsaw under different access models. Some of these publications are available in open access. To make them easier to discover, we have created a dedicated Open Access section featuring selected open access publications included in the platform's catalogue.

Different Disciplines, Shared Access to Knowledge

The Open Access section features publications representing a wide range of research areas, including history, literary studies, linguistics, cultural studies, social sciences, economics and other disciplines. Alongside specialised academic monographs, readers can discover scholarly articles, journals and individual journal issues.

This thematic diversity encourages readers to explore publications beyond their own fields of expertise. Similar research questions may be approached from different disciplinary perspectives, and discovering these publications through a single platform can reveal new contexts and connections between academic fields.

PubliSphere is neither a comprehensive catalogue of the University of Warsaw's scholarly output nor a publication repository. The resources presented represent part of the University's publishing activities, and the platform is gradually expanding to include additional publications and publishers.

How to Discover Open Access Publications

The Open Access section allows users to browse publications by content type. Readers can select books, journals, journal issues or articles, then narrow the results according to their interests.

Available filters make it possible to search by title, academic field and discipline, publisher, publication language and date, among other criteria. Users can also search using DOI, ISBN and ISSN identifiers or explore publications belonging to particular publishing series.

Readers interested in recent additions can choose to display newly added publications. This makes the Open Access section not only an additional way to browse PubliSphere's resources, but also a place to discover new publications as they are introduced to the platform.

Open Access and Copyright

Open access allows readers to access publications free of charge, but it does not mean that copyright protection no longer applies. The scope of permitted reuse depends on the conditions under which a particular publication has been made available.

For publications distributed under Creative Commons licences, the applicable licence specifies the conditions for copying, sharing and reusing content. Before reusing any material, readers should check the copyright and licensing information associated with the individual publication.

Discover University of Warsaw Publications

One of PubliSphere's goals is to make the University of Warsaw's publishing output easier to discover. Presenting open access publications in a dedicated section helps highlight this part of the platform's resources and makes it easier for readers to find books, articles and journals relevant to their interests.

We invite you to explore the Open Access section and discover the publications currently featured on PubliSphere. As the platform continues to develop, additional materials representing different academic disciplines will be introduced.
